The culture of a company goes a long way to influence how people perceive the products or services that they have to offer. A company’s culture does not only involve the employees but how the employees interact with the customers and, how they bridge the gap between the customers and their products. This, in turn, reflects on how consumers perceive the company and as a result, how they perceive their products or services.
Most companies roll out the digital journey in a highly uniform manner, with the same messages and techniques deployed throughout. From a change management perspective, this might not bore well for the organisation if the employees are not well engaged. Companies should consider not just the digital experience but also for different types of employees (old timers, lone wolfs, Gen X, etc) and they should craft effective messages, programs, and the ideal training and work environments to engage and persuade different groups of employees.
Digital transformation is necessary for every company in order to keep up with the changing world today. However, the first step to take towards achieving this transformation is from within; the employees and the company culture. It is important that everyone in the organization fully understands the need for it and fully support it. This process is never a walk in the park, besides the upgrade in hardware, an upgrade in soft skills are needed too.
